Power: he has the ability to strengthen his body. His skin turns grayish and tough as rock, allowing him to endure strong blows and explosions if needed. It can last at max twenty minutes, but this armored skin has one annoying side-effect: the more he uses it, the weaker he gets afterwards.
In action...well he's more like some perfect shield. Since he's pretty slow and not as skilled in fight as other heroes, his main job is to go protect citizens. Once in a while, though, some unlucky fellow might stumble upon him. And regret it.

History: It came to his attention that his skin could turn grey when he was an angry grumpy teenager, but he had other weird stuff to worry about (back then, he had to take care of his three young siblings, because their mother was a lazy alcoholic wreck). He worked for fifteen years as an intermittent worker, using his power to complete impossible and thankless tasks.
When he was around 30, his health started to decrease. Being harassed by his siblings on this subject, he quit working on building sites, and looked for a well-paying job instead. One of his brothers who was working for Apollon Media introduced him to the Hero TV show: soon he started to work as a hero for a couple of years.
Because of his health problems, he does not show up a lot on TV. The show sort of made up a cool cliché about it, shouting “RELEASE THE MINOTAUR” when he was ready to appear. Hence the armor, slightly based on a beast look, and the chains he is supposed to break on live anytime he has to show up. He thinks his armor is silly and makes him look like an ugly SM Rhinoceros, but since he’s well paid and not overexploited, he won’t complain loudly about it.

Personality: Grumpy jackass, checked.
Yet he doesn’t talk much, he can be quite aggressive and unfriendly toward other heroes. Especially girls, and young fragile-looking persons in general, which tends to make him sounds sexist or homophobic or whatever – he’s not, but he won’t bother denying it. It takes skills to impress him in a good way; but the more he yells at you, the more he cares for you!
Since he had to take care of a whole family for a long time, he has a very obnoxious mother-hen spirit. If he could kick a person he considers weak out of Hero Tv, he would do it gladly, no matter how hypocrite it would be, given his own health condition.
Ego of cosmic dimensions? Checked.
